About Department
Masters in
Computer Applications (MCA – under faculty
of Engineering) was introduced in BIGCE in the
year 2007. It is three
year full time programme affiliated to the Solapur
University. Spanning over six semesters, the course
not only includes subjects that give a good grounding
in the IT concepts, but also includes Engineering
and Management oriented concepts. Thus preparing
the student to be more competent to face the dynamic
corporate world. The programme brings out professionals
who are not only conversant with technology but
also application oriented for various vertical
domains.

Course Details
Duration : The duration of MCA degree shall be Three years, divided into
Six Semesters
Eligibility Criteria
• Candidate should be Indian National.
•
He should have passed with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of backward
class category candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only ) in any Bachelor’s
degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline recognized by the
Association of Indian Universities.
• Having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2
level or higher level examination.
Note : The candidates who have passed Bachelor
of Computer Application (B.C.A.) degree course with minimum % of marks as stated
above are not required
to fulfill the requirement of having studied Mathematics or Statistics
as one
of the subjects
at 10+2 level or higher level examination.
The candidates must have cleared CET conducted by competent authority (MAH-CET
or MAMI).

competition conducted by MAMI held at “Vidya Pratishthan
Institute of Information Technology (VIIT), Baramati”.

M.C.A. Student’s Association is nothing but the stage for their motivation.
Under the banner of MCASA we are planning the activities which makes student
technically strong and sound and keep them always alert about their aim to become
successful obedient Indian citizens.
It would certainly help us to explore hidden talent and maintain strong cohesive
bonds between all the fellow members.
TIME MANAGEMENT
MCASA activities of the academic year begun with the interesting
lecture on time management, on 23th August 2008. A high
profiled guest Mr. Sachin Bhattad was invited for the
same. Mr. Bhattad focused on strategies of studying which
was very useful for the students. He also conducted different
types of Management games to improve the logical thinking
of students. He boosted the energies of the students
with his inspiring strategic planning of time along with
studies.
DISCOVER YOUR POTENTIAL
The Department of MCA arranged a keen workshop for the
betterment of inner potential of students. The program
was inaugurated by Mr. J. Naidu, Head, Shrideva Management
Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. This one day workshop included management
lectures, management games and communication skills.
